Having visited Italy for some 15 years, much of this as independent travellers, we feel that La Pergola was one of the best properties at which we have stayed. The attention to detail in the house and the very sensitive low key maintenance was much appreciated. The area, too, has developed over the last 8 years and it was interesting to see these changes. It has recently been restored using the original materials like terracotta floors and exposed beams, and the house has lost none of its original charm. There are just two apartments at the property, each with private entrance and private outside area furnished with table and chairs for dining out. These two apartments named La Pergola and Il Gelso can be rented for two or four people, or both can be taken together for a larger party up to 8. La Pergola has a spacious living room with fire place and doors leading to the private garden with table and chairs under a vine-clad pergola; a well equipped kitchen (oven, cooker, fridge with freezer) completes on the ground floor. On the first floor there is double bedroom with ensuite shower bathroom, one twin bedroom and a second bathroom with shower. Il Gelso is similar but the doors lead to a large private terrace overlooking a vineyard. On the first floor there is a double bedroom and a twin, furnished with antiques, and two bathrooms with showers. On the first floor of this apartment there is also a covered loggia with a flight of steps leading to the garden. In the well-tended garden there is a lovely swimming pool (10 x 5m ) which is shared by the guests. With attractive view over Montalcino and the surrounding landscape, Podere Corticella ideal base for visiting many delights of Tuscany, including Siena (about 30 km away), Murlo, Montalcino, Pienza etc. The nearest town is Buonconvento 4 km away, where guests can find shops, supermarket, restaurants and bars. The friendly owners live nearby and they will be glad to give you information about the area. Farm products as honey and olive oil are on sale.
The prices are per apt. per 7 nights (from Saturday to Saturday) and they include water, gas, electricity, linen changed weekly, final cleaning, use of the swimming pool. Swimming pool: open from the 15th of May till the 30th of September. To pay on the premises: central heating upon use; Cot € 5 per night; wood for the fireplace € 10 per box. Washing machine 5 euro per load. Pets are not allowed. Inventory deposit: € 155 Arrival between 5.00 p.m. and 7.30 p.m. Departure by 10.00 a.m.
