Hello Italy

                        Umbria

Visiting Umbria is a voyage of discovery, wandering through the many and varied hilltowns each one with its own piece of history.
Perugia and Assisi , probably the most well known of the cities can be reached from any of our properties.
The car parks in Perugia have all been built below the city and a feat of engineering has provided escalators travelling upwards through the rock to the wonderful city above.
Assisi has to be visited - it is a World Heritage city.

Orvieto, Todi , Assisi and Spoleto have wonderful architecture and the many frescoes decorating the churches. The fascinating town of Castello di Vibio has its own beautifully preserved tiny theatre, and the views from here are spectacular.
The walled town of Castiglione del Lago has an interesting collection of shops where you can buy ready prepared products - do sample the porchetta (roasted suckling pig).
You can cross Lake Trasimeno on the lake steamer, or visit some of the small island. Isola Polvere has a herd of wild horses roaming free.
