GOOD WALKING Nestled in its own woodland garden beside the river, this delightful property has been furnished to provide attractive and comfortable accommodation. There is a large terrace to the side of the house and the peaceful grounds lead down to the crystal clear water tumbling over large stones on its way to the deeper river pools which are ideal for a cool dip in the heat of the summer. A lovely spot for children. The open-plan living room is divided into a newly fitted kitchen/ dining area that opens directly to the garden. Beyond this is an attractive sitting area with an open fireplace and a large comfortable settee at one end and a cushioned bench seat at the other. On the first floor there is a cosy well furnished bedroom overlooking the river and a well equipped bathroom with shower cubicle. Each morning you can hear the faint tinkle of bells as the local shepherd drives his flock of sheep along the river’s edge to the fields. Just five minutes drive away is the fascinating old village of Tavernelle with its mediaeval ‘borgo’ (street) spanned by old bridges and archways connecting the properties. It has hardly changed with the passing of time. There are two restaurants, a bar and several shops. In the direction of Comano is the village of Crespiano where there is the excellent Trattoria ‘Galetti’s’ and a small grocer and bakery. Above this is the hillside hamlet of Prota where you can enjoy Sunday lunch at ‘Guido’s’ restaurant. The owners, who love walking, have thoughtfully provided some information on local walks.
