Hotel Paradiso lived up to all expectations and we enjoyed the surroundings and a week of being cared for. In a superb position between the crystal clear sea and the national park of the Tuscan Archipelago and dominating the bay of Viticcio, the hotel consists of several buildings surrounded by trees and flowered gardens. The ensuite rooms have been newly refurbished in a cool simple style and almost all have a seaview with terrace or balcony and independent entrance. All have hairdryers, heating, direct telephone, wall safe and satellite TV. Good parking facilities. The restaurant provides good fresh ingredients and there is always a fish, meat and a vegetarian dish on the menu. There is a lovely outside terrace overlooking the bay which leads through to the attractive inner bar. At the highest level, the beautiful swimming pool with its sun umbrellas and loungers, has stunning views across the bay. There is also a tennis court on the other side of the road. A few metres down a steep pathway with steps is a pebble and sandy cove with complimentary deckchairs in high season. A diving school is only 1 km away. The lovely Biodola beach is only 10 minutes drive away and for the more intrepid, there is a walk over the headland to the next tiny bay which has a bar/restaurant on the shore and you can continue to Scaglieri and Biodola. There are two excellent trattorie close by. One is a fish restaurant hanging over the water’s edge and the other in nearby Enfola which does excellent prosciutto e melone for lunch. The hotel has been in the family for many years which may account for its friendly atmosphere and helpful staff. A wonderful place to relax with really special views.
