Garden

Oliveto is set in hamlet in the hills above Bagnone. It is a cosy one bedroom apartment in which the kitchen/living room opens onto a wonderful wide covered terrace with spectacular views across the lush garden to the medieval castle in the next hill.

The beautiful garden is planted with a variety of fruit trees and other interesting plants, producing dappled shade on hot sunny days.
The apartment is equipped with tables and chairs for eating outside as well as sunloungers and a barbecue.
The friendly Italian owners run the vineyards and olive grove which stretches into the valley. and they generally invite clients to help themselves to the fruit and and vegetables that are growing in profusion all around.
The hamlet of Nola is situated between Bagnone and Monti and looks over to the ancient castle and town of Corvarola, and beyond to the Apennines.

The hamlet of Nola isn't even on most maps and it seems remote from the modern world when you are there, yet it is only ten minutes drive to three towns with shops, bars and restaurants. And there are a couple of country trattorie even closer. It is possible to walk to the nearest, at Gabbiana - about a mile down the road, where you can sit on the terrace looking towards the mountains, eating some of the best food in Italy.
Terrace
There is a mountain stream a short walk away, where you can bathe in the pools below the waterfalls on a hot summers day. The owners have cleared the land around there and created a picnic areas for clients. There are deeper pools a short drive away, where you can swim and even dive.

Oliveto is the ultimate in relaxation.
Garden
There is a wonderful old wicker chaise longue in the garden, where you can spend a lot of time reclining in the shade of an apricot tree with a glass of the local wine or a bowl of fruit, listening to birdsong on the gentle breeze.

Hi - meant to email you sooner... just so you know staying at Oliveto was heaven! it was fantastic, the owner and his wife are fantastic. please let people know what a fabulous place this really is. it's magical. -beth

We thought we should just let you know that we enjoyed all three houses we stayed at.but a special word of appreciation should go to the Grossi Family of Oliveto.who really showed exceptional hospitality, making our stay very special indeed.
They brought us delightful little gifts each day, freshly picked cherries, home-grown veggies, winejam etc. Mrs Grossi did our laundry for us and we were even invited to join them for an evening of tv watching at their home, when we wanted to see an important soccer Euro-cup match!
I have sent them a Xmas card, but am not sure if it will arrive,so please will you pass on these comments from us to them and send them our best wishes for the Season.

It was good to meet you at Oliveto last week. Just to let you know that we had a wonderful 2 weeks in Italy and enjoyed our first time in this area immensely.
La Rocca certainly is a "gem of a house" and our hosts could not have been more helpful. We particularly enjoyed the evening strolls through the village and the small bar next door!
Oliveto was equally stunning, not least because of the wonderful reception from Sig. Grossi who insisted that we help ourselves to vegetables from his garden each day. Speaking French to an Italian in Italy was a surreal experience but helped us enjoy he wonderful surroundings.
We are both very grateful for the way that you handled our booking and provided all the info we needed - if you ever need a reference for any other potential clients we will be only too pleased to help.
Thanks again (Ofsted Grade 1 !!)
