The riving pools nearby

This old village house is nestled in the foothills of the mountains, in the heart of the Taverone valley in Lunigiana. Originally it was the village bakery. It has a warm, friendly atmosphere, and the original pizza oven can be seen at the front of the house.

The Taverone, a clear mountain river, has deep bathing pools only 5 minutes' walk from the village.
There are two villages with shops and restaurants just 2kms away and it is not far from the seaside or the mountains.
Casa Luna
Sleeping 4 people in a twin-bedded room and a king size double-bedded room, most of the accomodation is on one level. There are just six marble steps leading from the kitchen at ground level to the living room, dining room, kitchen at ground level, and shower room. Outside space includes a small balcony and a large vine-covered terrace with a barbeque.
The house itself is tastefully furnished with an eclectic mix of antique and modern furniture. The living room has a largeTuscan woodburning fireplace, and the house has central heating, a washing machine and small DVD player
Mezzaluna
The old storerooms underneath have been converted into a stylish, one bedroom apartment. Built entirely of stone, with large wooden beams, the sitting area has an traditional woodburning stove. The bedroom area is beyond. The spacious modern kitchen has doors out to sunny terrace area.
The location
Lunigiana is not a tourist area, and herein lies its beauty. It has the feeling of stepping back in time to a medieval landscape of villages clinging organically to hillsides – castles perched on mountain tops, snow covered peaks of jagged rock, and a peasant economy of vineyards and olive groves. In short, the scenery is breathtakingly beautiful. There is an otherworldliness about the area which makes it a ‘getaway from it all’ holiday ideal.
You can forget the hustle and bustle of life, and walk around the paths of the hamlet of Montale amongst the streams and waterfalls, wild flowers and birds of the lower mountain slopes. Or you can relax on the vine-covered terrace of Casa Luna with glass of local wine in your hand, listening to the sound of cicadas and grasshoppers.
