Il Castagno is an ancient property which has been completely renovated and is composed of the Mansion house and independent apartments with their own private space to eat outside. We offer two apartments for 8 persons with their own gardens. The Estate is situated on a hilltop and dominates all the nearby valleys with views that extend as far as the eye can see. The surrounding countryside has several acres of forest with oak-trees and cypresses interrupted by wheat fields, vineyards and olive groves.

Guests have a beautiful swimming pool at their disposal, situated in a sunny and panoramic position. There is a restaurant within walking distance and it is in easy reach of Volterra, Florence, Siena and Sam Gimignano.

 The Villa
This beautiful Villa is 368 square metres on the ground floor and 375 square metres on the first floor. It consists of 4 en suite double bedrooms, 4 en suite bedrooms with 2 beds, kitchen (equipped with cooker, oven, fridge, freezer, dishwasher), living rooms, park, lake, swimming pool (16 x 6 m ) , golf (at Castelfalfi Golf Club).

Guests also have access to a typical Tuscan Trattoria and a bar/pizzeria where groceries and local gastronomic products can be purchased (wine, extra virgin olive oil, honey, grappa).

Extra services offered by Il Castagno include:

La Quercia - Sleeps 8 - 130 sqmts. It is on 2 levels. On the ground floor there is a spacious living room and a kitchen (cooker, oven, fridge and dishwasher), 3 twins or doubles, one double with a queen size bed and 4 bathrooms with shower. Large private garden.

Il Cipresso - Sleeps 8 - 130 sqmts. It is on 2 levels. On the ground floor there is a spacious living room and a kitchen (cooker, oven, fridge and dishwasher), 3 twins or doubles, one double with a queen size bed and 4 bathrooms with shower. Large private garden.

La Scuola (Sleeps 6 +2) - 120 sqmts. It consists of large living/dining room with kitchen corner (cooker, oven, fridge and dishwasher), three double bedded rooms and three bathroom with shower. Two single sofa beds are available in the living room. Large private terrace. Satellite TV.

La Guardia (sleeps 5+1 ) - 85 sqmts. It is on the ground floor. It consists of a living/dining room with fire-place and a kitchen corner (cooker, oven, fridge and dishwasher), two twins or double bedrooms, one single bedroom, 2 bathrooms with shower. There is also a Sat TV and a private garden at the disposal of its guests. A single sofa bed is available in the living room.

Apartments

Prices are per apartment per 7 nights and they include water, gas, electricity, linen changed weekly, final cleaning and the use of the pool (open from the 28th of April till the 29th of September) Central heating to pay on the premises. Inventory deposit  200 (cash). Pets allowed upon request: extra cleaning  10. Extras are to be paid cash on the premises .
Weekly rentals from Saturday to Saturday: arrival between 16.00 and 18.00  (after this time the access to the property is not guaranteed). Departure by 9.00 a.m.

Villa
The prices are per week and they include water, gas, electricity, linen changed weekly, cleaning service three times a week and final cleaning. To pay on the premises: central heating (in winter) € 55,00 per day.
Maid service: € 12,00 per hour – on Sundays € 15,00 per hour. Animals allowed: extra charge Euro 10. 4 extra beds are available on request: Euro 12 per person per night.
Inventory deposit: € 550,00 cash
Swimming pool available from the 28th of April till the 29th of September (according to weather conditions)
Weekly stays (in high and middle season) arrival Saturday between 16 and 18:00 (after this time the access to the property is not guaranteed). Departure Saturday by 09:00 am.
For parties in the ground floor common room will be required an extra charge of Euro 400 to pay extra on the spot.
