BORGO DI FONTEBUSSI Ref. F33 Sleeps 2, 3, 4, & 6

Surrounded by thousands of olive trees, Borgo di Fontebussi which dates back to Roman times, is located at the entrance to the Chianti region along the "Chiantigiana" road connecting the historical and cultural triangle of Florence, Siena and Arezzo.

You can take a walk to the pretty village of Montegonzi perched on a hilltop (10 mins) where there is a restaurant. The closest village for shops and restaurants is Cavriglia with its national park (5 km away). Gaiole and Radda in Chianti are 15-20 km away. It is also possible to visit highly acclaimed wine cellars to sample their Chianti. One of the most renowned producers is Badia a Coltibuono with its splendid castle just 15 km away.

The village is surrounded by the countryside and offers both the breathless natural beauty of the area with easy links to the main art centres of Tuscany (roughly 50 km from Florence, 38 km from Siena and 45 km from Arezzo).

For those interested in fashion shopping, the famous outlets of Prada, Gucci, Armani and Dolce and Gabbana are all nearby.

A horseback-riding centre is just 2 km far from the property.

The Poggiarina Apartments

Set in lovely gardens, full of flowers, with a very large pool that is situated away from the accommodation with beautiful views across the valley and is well furnished with large sunshades and lounging sunbeds.

There are two independent stone houses sleeping 2 and 4 persons with their own private terraces and 8 apartments in total. They all have their own space to eat outside with garden furniture and inside every apartment you will find Satellite TV and private telephone. The kitchens are equipped with fridge/freezer, microwave and hob and the bathrooms are all newly fitted. For further details of apartment size, refer to the price list.

The owners have recently converted some other old buildings nearby into a small hotel with a restaurant, bar, shop, another splendid swimming and a large paddling pool. All these facilities are availablke to the clients, as well as the original pool and gardens.

N. 1 and N.2 - BASILICO and ALLORO (40 sqm - sleep 2+1): They are virtually identical and adjacent. Both on the ground floor with living room with kitchenette with a double sofa-bed, one twin room (with a double bed and a single) and one bathroom with shower. Private space to eat outside in the garden in front.

N. 3 - GINEPRO (52 sqm - sleeps 4+1): On the first floor with living room with kitchenette, one double room with en-suite with shower and one twin with en-suite with shower. In the living room there is a pretty gallery with a single sofa bed. Private space to eat outside is in the garden adjacent to the house.

N. 4 - MALVA (48 sqm - sleeps 3+1): On the ground floor with living room with kitchenette with single sofa- bed, one double room, one single room and a bathroom with shower. Large well equipped garden to eat outside.

N. 5 - OLIVO (67 sqm - sleeps 6): Is all on the ground floor with French doors that open onto a raised terrace and garden with view. It has a living room with kitchenette, two doubles and one twin with 2 bathrooms with shower.

N. 6 - ORTICA (43 sqm - sleeps 2+2): Situated on the first floor with a large living room with kitchenette with double sofa-bed, one double bedroom with bathroom with shower. Its space to eat outside is a few metres away in the garden.

N. 7 - PINO (50 sqm - sleeps 4): On the first floor with living room with kitchenette, one double bedroom, one twin bedroom and one bathroom with shower. Private space to eat outside in the garden.

N. 8 - TIGLIO (58 sqm - sleeps 4+1) On the first floor, it has very large living room with kitchenette with single sofa-bed, one double bedroom with en-suite with shower and another double bedroom with bed on a pretty gallery and private bathroom with shower. Private space to eat outside in the garden adjacent.

N. 9 - ROSMARINO (46 sqm - sleeps 2+2): This is next to Salvia and is also an independent little house on two levels. On the ground floor there is a living room with kitchenette with a double sofa-bed. On the first floor you will find a triple room (one double and one single bed) with bathroom with shower. This also has a private garden with a pretty porch with view.

N. 10 - SALVIA (62 sqm- sleeps 4): Is a charming independent barn on two floors. On the ground floor you will find a living room with kitchenette, one double room with bathroom with shower. On the first floor there is a further double room with private bathroom with shower. It has a private garden with a covered loggia with beautiful views.

The Borgo Apartments

Each apartment is named after a wild spring flower. All boast a comfortable kitchen/living room and bright bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms. Some of these apartments also have an independent private outside area in the olive garden. All the apartments have table and chairs for dining out.
Each apartment is equipped with telephone, satellite TV, kitchen, kitchenware and crockery, air conditioning and independent central heating.

The splendid 25 by 12.50 metre swimming pool is a few steps away from the apartments. In the large paddling pool there is a little lagoon with central fountain.

Apartments in the Olive Grove

Panzé (48 sqm, sleeps 4). First floor. Living room with kitchen corner (fridge, 3 electric plates, small electric oven upon request, dishwasher). Two double bedrooms (queen size beds) and one bathroom with shower.

Viola (70 sqm, sleeps 4). On 2 levels. First floor that is reached with external stairs case, living room with kitchen corner (fridge, 3 electric plates, small electric oven upon request, dishwasher); one double bedroom with shower. On the second floor one double, bathrooms with shower and wonderful view. Private garden.

Timo (87 sqm, sleeps 6). Ground floor. Living room with kitchen corner (fridge, 3 electric plates, small electric oven upon request, dishwasher). Two double bedrooms, one twin bedroom, 3 bathrooms with shower. Private garden.

On the second floor there is one double bedroom (queen size bed), one twin bedroom, each with private shower bathroom. Double sofa bed available in the living room.

The Villa rooms

The elegant Villa has a classical façade with windows and columns. It is an example of typical Tuscan XVIII Manor house architecture.
It has been turned into a hotel with 2 suites and 18 rooms (two of rooms are equipped for disable customers).
Some of the rooms are located inside the Manor house and others adjacent to it. The furniture and décor of the rooms has been tastefully chosen to recreate a 19th Century atmosphere.
All the rooms have telephone, Tv, air conditioning and central heating as well as their own en-suite bathrooms with shower or bath. Two of the rooms have Jacuzzi bath.
The view from the bedroom windows is that of the enchanting Chianti countryside through olives, vines and lawns.

The Manor house is on 2 floors, each has its own spacious lounge area on the centre landing.
The hotel offers an internet lounge, reading lounge, Satellite TV lounge and the swimming pool.

The price includes the use of the apartment with domestic appliances, water, gas, electricity, linen changed weekly, the use of the swimming-pool with beach umbrella and deck chairs (open from the 1st of May to the 15th of October). To pay on the premises: central heating € 10 per apt. per day, final cleaning € 30 per apt. Ortica, Rosmarino, Basilico, Alloro, Malva and 40 Euro per apt. Salvia, Ginepro, Pino, Tiglio, Olivo; Baby cot free of charge. Arrival Saturday 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and departure by 10.00 a.m. on Saturday morning. Inventory deposit: € 150. Pets allowed upon request: extra cleaning € 50.

To pay on the premises: central heating € 7 per apt. per day, final cleaning € 40 per apt. Giacinto, Iris, and 50 Euro per apt. Timo, Papavero, Rosa, Anemone, Tulipano, Girasole, Viola, Panzé. Cot 20 Euro a week Arrival Saturday 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and departure by 10.00 a.m. on Saturday morning. Inventory deposit: € 150. Pets allowed upon request: extra cleaning € 50. Extra bed 50 Euro a week, swimming pool towels 4 Euro, laundry 3 Euro. Satellite Tv in every apartment.
